About the Show

Welcome to the home of  Wargelin, a new Web show hosted by Somali Filmmaker Abdisalam Aato, The webcasts will feature Abdisalam’s candid and incisive one-on-one interviews  with high-profile guests ranging from Somali politicians, Academics, celebrities, other top Somali newsmakers and everyday people.

Wargelin has one agenda, and that is to inform its viewers with the latest information affecting Somalis. We strife to create an atmosphere where debates can take place and an atmosphere where information flows freely. For these reasons we encourage our visitors to share their opinion and become reporters themselves. We do this in the hope that all sides of every story can be presented fairly.

Our main goal is to be “the first to inform you”. Sometimes this information may come in the form of a video, a disscussion, and sometimes inteviews but it will always ends with a response from our audience.

We intend to go after reports and stories that other Somali Media outlets ignore. This has been our commitment to our audeience, we call this commitment the Wargelin commitment. Somali Media for too long now has been held unaccountable. In this enviorment a number of news agencies largely based along clan lines have emerged, and for too long they have publicly displayed their slanted opinion by the reports and stories they cover.

For this reason, Wargelin has chosen to rise above this type of unproffesional conduct and report any and every story that is of use to the Somali Community around the World.
